Here are som sneak peeks from my pattern included in the next Fat Quarter-magazine (available in about 14 days).

That was all for today. Now I will go on drawing dogs....working on a loooong one!

Once upon a time.....

....there was a mother who needed a ....... (please help me, what´s the English word for this kind of bag?) for her new born son. That mother was me and the baby boy was Jonatan who is going to be 24 this year.
I decided to make one myself. My mother helped me, because she wanted to do some textile printing...

Here it is....unfortunately the handles are missing. This is one of my first quilted project.
Luckily I have developed my skills......

The ruler and the 90 degree angle were not invented.....but I think it looks wonderfully creative.

This is the inside. I used loop fabric with plastic on the back for the little man (and later his baby sister) to lie on and in the pockets I had diapers and other useful things.

Why do I tell you this story?

Because I found the bag so practical I´ve started to make a new version of it and I´m going to make a pattern. It will be a part of a baby series called "Little Me".

You will find the first part in the next issue of the Fat Quarter-magazine (available in the middle of February)

That pattern is still a secret, but tomorrow I will give you some sneak peeks....

Finally this little quilt is finished.

I found buttons small enough for the clothes....but my fingers were too big. It took a lot of bumbling
to stitch them in place.

These buttons were much easier.....

The world is full of wonderful friends.....because of you I´m more motivated than ever to go on with my blog....
I promise to not bother about my english any more but I also promise to read through my posts before I publish....some errors are only inadvertence.

The blue star is finished, ready to move into its new home. It´s a small one, 16" x 16".

Actually I don´t have any problems with this dark season, I´m ready to accept it completely if anybody can fix a photo studio for me.

Nobody.... Okey, then you have to stand the bad quality of my photos.....

This litte bag did I make for my daugther Josefin as a Christmas present. It was filled up with useful things. (Sysaker = sewing things if you translate it directly.)
She has moved into her own appartment a while ago and can not use my sewing equipment (and knowledge) any more. Not so easy anyway....
Now she has to manage it herself....

I used the same pattern as for Butterfly Bags, which you can find in my webshop.

I need some help

A while ago I got an e-mail that made me sad and at the same time angry.
It was a woman who told me that my English with a lot of grammatic errors would keep English-speaking people away from my website.
I´m sure I make mistakes now and then because English isn´t my mother tounge and it´s more than 30 years since I left school.
But I do my best and as long as people understand me I don´t think it´s a catastrophe....

However, I would like to ask for help. Take a look at my website and tell me what to correct, grammatic errors, spelling, if I have chosen the wrong word.....
Don´t feel impolite, it will not make me sad. I want to learn and do it right. I will really appreciate if you will help me. And there will be a reward....

It will end up as a small table cloth for a friend of mine. The binding I´ve chosen is dark blue.
She asked for something blue, hope she will be satisfied.

The first Crazy Dog is now published on my website together with a picture of the quilt.
Ýou have to choose the sashing fabric before you can make the next dog, it´s a special one. This block will be available in the middle of February.

The instructions for the Crazy Cats quilt are publised on my website too, together with all the cats.

The first dog is finished. Only some PDF and HTML left to do, then he will appear on the website.
That will happen in the beginning of the week, I hope....

If you think my dogs look like any familiar breed of dog that´s just an opportunity. They will all be my fantasy dogs, crazy dogs, but of course my inspiration comes from the real ones..... It´s so fun!

Vacation time!

In less than two hours it´s time to leave for Gothenburg and Landvetter airport. The final destination is Coraya Bay in Egypt. It will be wonderful and very exciting.....

If you want to order patterns from my webshop I will send them to you on the 12th of December when I´m back again.

I have hoped that the instructions for the Crazy Cats quilt should be finished before leaving, but I didn´t have enough time. My own quilt isn´t finished either, there has been too much for me this week.

If you want to start assembling your cats, I can tell you that the squares around the blocks are 2" x "2.
That means that you have to cut the patches 2½" x 2½". I have 35 blue squares, 32 green, 34 pink and 43 offwite in my quilt.
There is a picture to download on the website.

Fair in Stockholm

Yesterday I spent a lot of hours at Syfestivalen ("the festival of sewing"), a big fair in Stockholm.
A lot of nice meetings: wonderful people, of course, and wonderful fabrics.....

These are for one of my new fabric, just have to search for some more blue....

These are for the project that includes the little creature that I showed you in my last post. Just need some turquoise.

Some beige for the Crazy Cats and blue for the binding of the old photo quilt.

Now its time for our last breakfast at the hotel this weekend. Then some shopping before we leave Stockholm for our trip home. About 5 ½ hour in the car. A little bit boring end of a wonderful weekend.....

We are all very satisfied!

It was defenitely the right decision to change the border. Now I have to hurry up with the quilting, have to be finished before Friday....

I changed my mind

This is what happened today when I came to see the quilt. The children told me that they wanted more colours around them instead of that boring border that I had chosen.
I followed their advice and ripped the old one of and cut new patches. I think they were right, I will be more satisfied with it now. Maybe the have made the border for me when I´m back tomorrow.....

Crazy Cat #12 has got his blanket stitches too.

Only three faces left to stitch.....

A top day!

The top is finished. Tomorrow I will start to quilt. All machine quilting will be done before Friday. Then it will follow me to Stockholm. I think the hand quilting of the stones on the ground will be perfect for a lot of hours in the car.....

The next question is which colour I will choose for the binding.

My first idea was dark blue, like one of the dresses.

Or is it better to choose one of the bright colours instead?

Or the dark blue.....have to think about it.....

There has also been some cat sewing, two of the kitties has get their blanket stitches.

Puzzle time

Today I started with three piles of tiles, paws and a lot of other parts....

....some of them blue and beige....

....some pink and brown....

(Don´t ask me why this picture has turned over, the original is not that way, it must be Blogger that is trying to make me crazy...)

....and some green and brown.

After some time using my iron three new kittens were born. But they are a little bit shy...

Soon they are all finished. Next weekend when I´m visiting Stockholm and Syfestivalen ("the Sewing Festival") I will purchase the last fat quarters that I need to finished the quilt. Then I don´t think I can stop myself......

A cat catch up

This afternoon has been all about cats. The last three Crazy Cats are drawn, scanned and transfered to fusible web. Some stitchery on number 12 is also done.Tomorrow there will be no rest for my iron and the sewing machine has to work hard making blanket stitches......meow is all I can say about it.

Now have all the kids got heads and arms and legs. I think they became real cute.

I found that she had written all the names on the backside of the photo.

Now I´m going to add an apricot border to the stitchery and then I will stitch it together with this block. At last I will add a border made of an off white fabric with small flowers on it.

Then it´s quilting time. The wall will be quilted by machine and the stones on the ground will be hand quilted.

I really want to go on with this project know....how fun is it?

Letters

Today I decided to go on with my letters which have been half finished for a long time.

S is finished. Nine more letters are waiting in the pile. Some of them are quilted, the others not.

When they are finished I will put them on a wire just under the ceiling so you can see them when you enter my studio.

Maybe you can guess which letters there are hiding in the pile?

A new block is born

I have made a block which I´m going to use in my "Ungarna på gården"-quilt, the one I make from the old photo. More about the Swedish namn later.

I used paper piecing, love that technique, always perfect results.
The stitchery is almost finished, just a couple of legs left to stitch.

Living Next Door

My house pattern is now in the shop. Or it has been there for a while but I want to show you now when I have updated all my pattern covers. All 19 patterns has got bigger photos printed directly on the paper.

I think they look much better now.

Six different characters live in the house.

I have also taken a lot of new pictures, one of them is of Grandma´s Roses.

....but nothing to show. The last couple of weeks I´ve been working on two projects, one secret and one to update my web shop and my patterns. That´s why it hasn´t been so much to share with you.But now those projects are finished and tonight I´m looking forward to stitch on my mother (!) and her friends. Do you remember?

I´m working on my own fabric version of this picture. All the children have got there clothes on now. That means that the applique is finished. Next step is to stitch their heads, arms and legs.

When that´s done I promise you a photo.

Looking forward to play with my reproduction fabrics from the 30s, just right for this project.....how fun!

Not much has been done the last days, tired, tired, tired......
Today I´m back at Syverkstan again and it feels good. A week together with my sewing machines and then is a trip to Stockholm waiting for me.

What can I made of this?

Because there was not even one stitch made by me this weekend there´s nothing new to show.
So here come pictures of blocks I made this spring.

In the end there will be 68 more of them, I´m about half the way already. When finished, the quilt will be on the bed in my workroom/guestroom at home.

Time to search for my fantasy, start up the needle and stitch.....

....I have celebrated my 50th birthday. Early in the morning we left home going somewhere unknown for me.
First stop was a hotel where we had breakfast. Next stop was a town called Karlshamn. After a while we found the maternity hospital where I was born 29th of June 1961.

The rest of the day was spent in the archipelago outside Karlskrona. Lots of wonderful islands.

A fantastic restaurant was visited for lunch and before we went back home we had a luxury picnic.

I like the paper this gift is wrapped in.

This beautiful necklace is made for me by my mum and Josefin, my daughter.

Me and my sister, Johanna.

As you can see, she´s my little sister.

No comments.

The men in the family, Conny and Jonatan, served coffee.

Josefin was our photographer, that´s why she isn´t in any picture this time.

The pictures from the picnic is missing, I will be back and show you them tomorrow.

A stitching day

Back from Denmark. Yesterday I visited Bakken together with my mother and sister. Bakken is an amusement park near Copenhagen. It was our father´s 80th birthday and we celebrated his memory.
He loved trips to Denmark and Bakken.

Today I have spent a lot of time together with my sewing machine. It´s quite a long time since last time.
I started the day with cutting clothes for "all my children".

Then I ironed them in place and started stitching around all edges using blanket stitches.

Now I just have to go on stitching, and I love to do it....
....but not tomorrow. Tomorrow is a special day, can´t believe it, it´s my 50th birthday.

Back home

Now I´m back home again and can use my ordinary broadband. I don´t like the mobile one, yesterday it was slower than slow. So slow that I couldn´t use it.

These are my companions for this weekend, both of them are 20+ and still going strong.
It´s our first trip this year, destination Öland. It´s a beautiful island on the Swedish eastcoast.

The stop for this evening is here by the sea, the village is called Degerhamn. This is what I see looking through the window.

Of course I have made "fabric things" today too. When my hubby was driving I finished the binding on my house. There will be better pictures when I´m back home.

An old photo

This old, red photo album is a treasure. It´s my mother´s, filled with photos from when she was a child and a teenager.

It´s like "old time" scrapbooking inside.

This is the photo I wrote about yesterday. My mother is the tall girl on the right staying together with friends who lived in the same house.

A while ago my mother made this watercolour painting from the photo. It helps me with the colours of clothes and hair. So I searched in my stash for fabrics and look what I found.

Could it be better? The striped one could have been leftovers from that dress.

So I picked up my pencil and started to sketch. I have thought about making this for a long time now, but yesterday the inspiration was there. Here are some sneak peeks from my version.

It was fun to make them my way. I had to do some small changes to make it work with stitchery and applique, but I think that´s ok. It wasn´t meant to be a copy.

These are the fabrics I´m going to play with to make the stitchery into a wallhanger. Don´t know if I will use them all.

It´s raining and raining and raining......

.....but here inside by me it´s warm and cosy. I don´t have to go to the beach, no picnic and no barbeque tonight, just sitting here by my sewing machine. It´s wonderful, isn´t it.....positive thinking. Of course I want to do the summer things too, but when I can´t, I like it here together with my fabrics.

A couple of weeks ago I found an old project on my shelf and went on finishing it. It was my guardian angels which I started when a friend of mine really needed guardian angels. But life turned into another direction and the angels were put aside. Until now. I finished the quilting, stitched the pillowcase together and made the bindings.

Here is the result, a pillow and a wallhanger.

On the pillow I stitched in two different colours.

On the wallhanger I only used one colour but made an applique cloud.

I added two blocks to the wallhanger as a decoration.

Then I made a pattern of the project, "Guardian Angels". You will find it in the shop on my website.

Now I´m going to eat some yummy, Swedish strawberries for lunch and at the same time visit the nice blogs I´m following. I think I will have a wonderful lunch break.

Update: For some reason Í can´t leave comments on your blogs....frustrating! But I love what I´ve seen and read.....

Later I´m going to scan a photo of my mother and her friends. It´s about 70 years old. Then I will make a stitchery out of it, and in the end it will become a wallhanger together with fabrics from the 30s.
More about that next time.

I´m proud of myself today!

I have tought about some kind of make over for my blog for a long time now and today was the day.
I decided to make it look like my website. Then I managed to figure out how to fix the header and the background to fit into Blogger´s templates. It wasn´t easy but maybe I´m smart or just had a lucky day....
Then I fixed the labels and gadgets and now I´m satisfied with how my blog looks.

Yesterday evening Crazy Cat 6 was published on my website.

This is what he looks like. A brown and green little man with a big heart....maybe he´s in love?

I´ve built a house!

I started to build a house a while ago....purchased the material.

I started with blocks for the roof.

Then I used a lot of bricks and made walls. Windows and a door....and here it is.....my house!

Six different persons are ready to move in. The first one will be a grandma.

When everybody are there I will do some gardening....

Grandma´s Roses - pattern release and give away!

Finally finished - Grandma´s Roses!

The roses are designed by my mother, the grandma in our family. She has always drawn this kind of roses, as long as I can remember, and I love them. So I asked her for a special version for this quilt.

Construction business - that´s my new thing!

I don´t know if I can call me construction engineer, but I´ve started with house building. My house is made of fabric, of course!
I´ve purchased the material, the draftings are finished and the inspiration is on top. Time to start!

A lot of patches!

I´m looking for lodgers, have to wait and see who is coming out of my pencil. When I´ve found six persons that I like I will let them move in (stitch them in the windows).

Then it´s time for some gardening, some flowers in front of the house would look nice.

Grandma´s Roses

No, it´s my mothers work. But her "name" is always grandma (mormor) in our family.
She has always drawn this kind of roses and these two motifs are made especially for this quilt.
I finished the stitcheries this autumn and started with the blocks. Last weekend they were finally finished and sewed together into a top.

But how to quilt? At first I´ve tought about a thin batting and machine quilting, but maybe I will use a thicker batting and handquilt.....

He´s finally there, but not alone....

He is #3 in Crazy Cats BOM.

I started with brown Japanese fabric for the background.

Then I sewed green and offwhite strips together

for his a little bit fat body and cut out all the pieces.

He got feet, ears and tail.

Next part is put in place....

.....and finally he got his head.

Blanket stitchies around all edges......

....eyes, mouth and whiskers.....and there he is, finished!

Is he cute?

Yes, he is, especially his belly button.....

In my winter world....

Lot´s of snow, we had a white, cold Christmas.....lovely.
I took a winter walk together with my daugther and her camera and now I can show you pictures of my winter bag.

It´s made from the same pattern as my autumn bag, "My Season Bag". That pattern includes stitcheries for all four seasons.
I think I have to go on with the spring version now, before there are flowers instead of snow.....

Today it´s the first day of 2011. It´s a fantastic feeling, lots of hope and lots of opportunities.

It´s also a challenge, to fill it with good things and take care of the days.

Back home again from Stockholm and Malmoe and.....it has been a busy week, a lot of traveling.
Last weekend I was in Stockholm and visited "The Sewing Festival", a wonderful fair. A lot of quilting, that was the best.....and a lot of fabric followed me home.

I had my waistcoat finished in time! More pictures will come.

Can you see the wallhanger with the Swedish flag on it? It´s made by me - my own design.

There will be pictures of that one too.

Here I am together with Annika from "Fat Quarter" - the Swedish quilt magazine. You can find my pattern in the last issue.

That´s the name of the autumn table runner. It´s finished and I´m satisfied. I love these autumn colours, think they are "mine".

Autumn came fast this year, it always do, and soon it is Christmas. How many days left? No, I don´t like to know.

I´m busy working on this years Christmas projects: My Christmas Angel, an ornament wallhanger and a "Christmas card pocket". Still stitching and stitching and stitching.....soon a lot of cutting.

Didn´t believe that last week, but today it´s a warm sunny beautiful autumn day. Lovely!
Yesterday my autumn runner got quilted, only the binding left. Maybe today?

A lot of stitches! Started with blanket stitch around all edges and then I stitched with brown thread, two times.

What´s this stitch called in English? In Sweden we call it "kråkspark" (crow kick).


These block are for a project I´m designing for the Swedish quilt magazine Fat Quarter.What it´s gonna be is a secret....

Autumn is here!

Rain, rain, rain......and wind!
Yesterday you sometimes needed a boat instead of a car, or a submarine.....
No colours yet, only withered birch leaves.

But here in my studio there are already lots of beautiful autumn colours

Beautiful fabrics waiting to be cut.

This patches were pieced into two sunflower block.
Then I added some squares......

......added pumpkins and leaves and out came an autumn table runner.

My website is published on the web!!!!!! Believe it or not....

It has been finished for a couple of weeks now, but from my computer to the internet server, it was a long journey..... Everything that could go wrong did it, I´m sure. The last thing happened yesterday - power outage!

But today.........drum rolls.........

Today is the day! My website is finished and published on the web! WOW!

On this site you can find freebees, tutorials, pictures, my webshop and much more.
And of course competitions. To celebrate the release there will be two of them.

.....but a solution at last, I hope....

Hard work, my website is finished. Just had to log in and publish it on the server....that´s what I thought, but no. A message from the internet provider: not available anymore, please sign up for our webhotel , just pay a lot more money....... %&x!"x%&x=x"# (words that you don´t want to read).
When we signed up for that account that web server thing was included, not anymore but still the same price...not OK.

But when I calmed down a bit, we discussed the whole thing and I think we found a solution.
I have to wait a couple of days, until September 1th, but that´s OK if the internet provider gets no more money from me......

Southernmost but no sun.....

About a month ago I visited the northernmost place in Sweden, and here I am standing on the southernmost place called Smygehuk. If I was a good swimmer I could take a trip to Germany...

I have been here a couple of times before, but since last time they had built this little "place". Looks nice!

Good to know where you are.

If you want to go somewhere else....

This place is called Ale`s stones, an old monument from the Viking age. Another place we visited on the south coast.
It´s situated high up. The south of Sweden is very flat, that´s true, mostly.
Here a pictures from Ystad, a small, very cute town. This is the cloister, a very old building.

Frame houses everywhere....

Another view point, Stenshuvud, a national park, not flat. The rest of this part of our country is flat, believe me. Mostly farming land and small villages.....

In this post you don´t find any stitches or fabric, but watch out for the next one, later today.

Kiruna and more

After a couple of days filled with mountains and lakes and mosquitos we reached the civilization again. It is the northernmost city in Sweden, Kiruna.
Maybe it´s mostly known for the mine but also for its church. A very special building. Inside nearly everything was made of dark wood. Very special....but "cool".

In that town I also found a very special quilt store, don´t remember the name, sorry. But there where lots of beautiful fabric - my style. Couldn´t resist this reindeer fabric - what a souvenir.

After that visit it was time for the wilderness again. This is a picture of Kebenekaise, the highest mountain in Sweden. A beautiful view.

Just beside that lake was this hamburger bar called Lap Dånalds. A hamburger made of reindeer meet and a cold beer together with that veiw, that is what I call quality of life.

More beauty! Lots of clean water, fantastic to drink.

And mountains! Driving up high,,,,,

......up to the highest situated road in Sweden, passing Stekenjokk. This high location was our home for one night.

Guess who´s sitting here, stitching.....wrong, it´s not my hubby!

Tomorrow I will show you the last pictures from our trip, then we went home again.

But on Friday it´s time for another trip, going south. Of course we have to visit the southernmost place too this summer, within a month.

Follow that reindeer!

Towards another neighbour country, Norway.

Reindeer on the road! Look at that white one....cute!

Just "around the corner" we found Norway and started to drive towards the coast. Now we had come north of Sweden, far away from home.

I love Norway, it´s so beautiful when the high mountains meet the sea.

Why did it have to rain when we came to Tromsö? But I loved that town anyway. Cute wooden houses, small streets and hills.

Look at the view, quite cloudy, but if you take a closer look you can see high mountains in the background.

More than 5000 km on the road, did I just sit there? No, of course not. A lot of stitches were made. I started this hexagon quilt last summer, but this year it has grown even bigger....

How fun is it? This is my road trip project. More hexies next weekend.....

Visiting "Treriksröset"

That´s the place where three countries meet, Sweden, Finland and Norway.
We chose to go there from the Finnish village Kilpisjärvi.

You can walk all the way if you want to, but we decided that a boat trip to start with was the best choice.

When you leave the boat you are in Sweden.

Walking. It´s not a river, it had been a rainy day.....perfect for the mosquitos, big as elephants....

Beautiful views....

It´s not easy to get there.....

....it´s in the middle of a lake.

Here I am. I believe I´m in Sweden, but I´m not sure. Maybe it´s Norway....or Finland.
If you walk around that stone you have been in three countries. That´s why I´ve been in Finland a lot of times now.
This is not only a border of three countries, it´s also the northernmost place in Sweden.

The Artic Circle

Far away from home, passing the Artic Circle. Here begins the midnight sun area.

You have to drive carefully. Reindeers on the road!

On the Finnish side of the border. There are 999 more lakes......?!

The northernmost village in Sweden, Karesuando, in this shop you could buy everything......almost.

Straight up north, just turn on the auto pilot and relax......

.....but even today there will be a stitching picture.
I´ve finished an UFO, what a wonderful feeling. And it´s up on the wall, all in the same day!!!!
It was only the loops that were missing. why?

Back south

...and back in Syverkstan again after a couple of weeks on the road. We have been far up north, living in our mobile home. It has been a wonderful time, the nature is fantastic, sooooo beautiful.

But it´s nice to be back, I´ve missed my sewing machines and my computer and everything.
Do you think I haven´t stitched? Wrong! A lot of hexies are added to my quilt, but I need more loooong trips to finish it.... It´s a big one.

We started in the morning, and as we live far south in Sweden there has been a lot of driving, more than 5000 km. The first day we drove trough Stockholm and up along the east coast.

Next day we reached Höga Kusten, "The high coast" where you can find this bridge.

Next stop, Umeå. And yes, it´s called Björkarnas stad (The town of birches) and that was true. Birches everywhere, along all the streets, wonder how many.....

This one we found in the river. We parked our car on the quay and everytime I looked out, OMG! A little bit scary....

We drove on, up along the coast and reached Piteå. We just had to visit their famous beach, but, too cold for me. That´s something that´s better at home, the beaches.

Here is my travel companion, my hubby Conny. In the background you can see the Finnish border.
It was the first time for me in Finland, but now I´ve been there about ten times. More about that later. It was just a short visit in Finland. Our trip went on along the border, mostly on the Swedish side. More pictures tomorrow, further up north......

But before I stop for today I have to show you something from the stitching world too.

SNOW!!!!!

This winter it was winter, real winter I mean. Lots of snow, can´t remember we have had that much before....and for so long time....from December to March. Now it has melt away, almost, you can still find snow....

And you can find me. I disappeared under a pile of snow, a real big one and then it was impossible for me to post anything on my blog.....okay.....do you believe me?

A garden party? Don´t think so......

But now it´s spring, love it!
And I´m back, next time there will be a surprise, I did a little bit stitching even if it was cold.....

This little cutie arrived together with a Christmas present yesterday. It came all the way from Australia and Jenny, my partner in SSCS 2009. The present has to wait until Christmas Eve, I´m so curious...... Thank you very much Jenny!

This wonderful little Christmas quilt came from Austria and Ilse, my partner in the Holiday Quilt Swap. In the parcel was also a wonderful, yummy chocolate bar. Thank you very much Ilse!

Once upon a time....

.....there was a little girl......guess who it is?
Yes, it´s me and my grandma and grandpa.....about 45 years ago.....and I´m still stitching.

Today there was no stitching at all, didn´t feel well this morning and stayed at home together with my computer. My daugther was home too and took care of me and now I feel much better.
Tomorrow I´ll be back in my studio, a lot of projects are waiting for me......

....about -6C this morning.....but no snow...dreaming of a white Christmas....not too late.....wait and see.

I have participated in 4SQS Holiday Quilt Swap and this is what I sent too my swap partner, Margaret.

I had a lot of fun making this quilt, didn´t count the pieces but there are more than one....paper pieced....

I haven´t recieved my quilt yet, still curious about who is my partner.....waiting....exciting!

Today I´ve started to make the bag and needle case I showed you yesterday using these fabrics.
And this set I will keep for myself....started to stitch the roses today....pink and green....love it!

December, today it´s winter!!?? OK, it was frozen outside this morning, but no snow yet.....
Soon it is Christmas, can´t believe that....

My September shopping

Fabric - that´s a magic thing for me. I can create fantastic things, they are beautiful to look at, make my cupboard looking nice, make me happy, inspired, they comfort me, make me relax....
And not once, but three times: when I buy them, when I look at them and when I use them....

OK, that was some kind of philosophic excuse for a lot of shopping last month.....

These fabrics were purchased for a special project, secret for some weeks.....but I planned to buy them.

These wonderful ones just wanted to follow me home, is that my fault?

Fabrics that I needed. They are for my log cabin scrap quilt so I can finish that old UFO.

Just had to buy these, couldn´t resist, they had to go with me.....

These are for a special project, I had a hard time to find the right colours, but I think I´m satisfied at last....

Yesterday I purchased a piece of dark brown fabric....busy working on finishing a project....more about that next time....

It´s time to do something about my bad conscience. I have felt so unpolite the last weeks. I´m very grateful for the beautiful things I´ve received and I feel very spoilt.

A couple of weeks ago this cute little bag arrived in my mailbox. It was from Christine, I was the lucky winner. Thank you very much Christine!! I really love it, this one was the cutest.....

A few days ago I received my bag from the Friendship Bag Swap. It came from Mandy all the way to Sweden from Australia.

At that´s not all that was in that parcel!
Look at this picture....I feel so spoilt.... Thank you very much!

Today there was another parcel in my mailbox, two beautiful fabrics from Carina. I was the lucky winner in her giveaway. These fabrics are really my style, thank you Carina.

That´s all from me today, I try to catch up with a little bit of everything each day. I will be back tomorrow, more to show and tell. And I´m planning to catch up with my e-mails tomorrow too....that means a lot of work....but I feel satisfied being back again!

A new start

What a month September was but it ended up well and I´m so grateful. As I told you in my last post a month ago (yes, I know) my mother was in hospital. A week after that post she had to go to another hospital, in Lund, for heart surgery, a by-pass operation. Thank God, everything went well and since two weeks she has been at home again. She is still a little bit tired but recovers fast.

This is why you haven´t heard from me for a while....too tired, nervous and busy. When everything was back to normal again I felt like a zombie....my brain didn´t work, too tired.....
But now I´m back here in blogland again and I will try to catch up with everything.
A big thank you for all nice comments on my previous post, I know I haven´t answered but I hope you will forgive me.
I will post about gifts I have recieved and of course say thank you to all you nice people.
And I have a lot of e-mails to answer and people to contact, so stay tuned, I haven´t forgotten...

In the evening of 09-09-09, the day for mom´s surgery I designed this quilt and I named it "Heartbeat". I have planned to make it for her as a gift, maybe for her next birthday....
I´m very pleased with it and it has a special feeling for me.

Pieces of life

Two weeks since my last post....and it has not been ordinary weeks. We came back home from our little trip on Thursday. Since Friday my mother has been in hospital with heart problems....
A lot of worrying....she´s still in hospital....I´m sure she will recover and life will go back to normal again....
But there will be a couple of weeks before this journey is over. That means less time in my studio because I have to look after her cat every day (he´s so cute....but lives half an hour away....two hours on the road for me) and of course visit her in the hospital.

This is why it´s two weeks since my last post, but I have done a lot of sewing too. If I´m totally honest it´s the housework that´s not done. Can´t resist quilting....

Ten blocks are finished, some of them paper pieced.

It has been a lot of fun......

....and a lot of pieces

I think I´m very satisfied with the result!

I will use these blocks for decoration in my studio. Therefore I added letters on them.

Next step is blanket stitches on the letters....

....a thin grey border on each block....

.....then hand quilting.

The last step will be a red binding to match my little logo butterfly.

Here he is on a quilt. I´m gonna make another copy of him on masonite for this studio decoration. Photos will come......

I will be back soon, lots to show, but now it´s time to get dressed and leave for the cat.... Maybe (??!!) he´s hungry....

This little red cabin is my own little retreat place for today. It´s just outside Hällefors, a village between Karlstad and Örebro, in the middle of Sweden.
My daugther comes back tonight. She is on intro days at her school today and tomorrow. Then she will study from home for about one year. It´s a design education, and guess if her mother is interested too. I have to read her books!

It´s beautiful here......

My working place for today. The weather is sunny and warm. Lucky me, I will have a wonderful day.
This one is my project for today. There are a lot of hearts and flowers that need to be stitched in place by hand. This is a real UFO, but now I think it´s time to finish it.

Tomorrow afternoon we will go back home again, 6 hours on the road. That means at least 3 hours of hexagons for me.
