The first of "My Season Bags" was made for a woman in Florida. I designed it with inspiration from our Swedish summer flowers. Then I went on with the autumn bag and after a while I had made four bags. Stitchery patterns for all four seasons are included.

In my winter world....
Lot´s of snow, we had a white, cold Christmas.....lovely.
I took a winter walk together with my daugther and her camera and now I can show you pictures of my winter bag.
It´s made from the same pattern as my autumn bag, "My Season Bag". That pattern includes stitcheries for all four seasons.
I think I have to go on with the spring version now, before there are flowers instead of snow.....
Have a nice week, happy stitching,
Helena

Fabrics for my autumn bag and tonights work
It´s time for me to start with my autumn version of my bag swap bag and make a pattern of it.
I already had these fabrics in my stash to start with.
And on my little fabric hunt last Monday I found these.
I´m not sure I will use all sorts of fabric I have, maybe I only choose a few of them. But all of them are now prewashed and ready to use. Tomorrow I will start cutting....But this evening (night?) there´s another work waiting for me, this:
See you again soon,

Pictures of the bag
I started with an idea of a colourful bag, inspired by the Swedish summerflowers.
From the beginning I wasn´t sure what would come out in the end, it was such a design-as-you-go project.

....and the threads.
I built it up piece by piece...
...and got this. Added some yellow petals - buttercups.
I designed flower stitcheries, one of them became a pocket on the front side.
Then I put it together with batting and binding. At last I did some machine quilting and added that big flower.

Finished!
I also made this little make up bag.
Then I wrapped it, put it in an envelope and send it to Betsy. And yesterday it arrived in her mailbox and I can relax..... Now I´m gonna make a pattern of the bag and perhaps made one for myself. Autumn colours this time...
Take care,
Helena

My wallet is empty.....
This weekend I´ve been on a quiltshow called Quiltköping.
A lot of wonderful quilts, wonderful people and a lot of shopping. What more can I ask for?
My camera wasn´t my friend that day, sorry, no pictures.
Today it was in a better mood and I can show you some of my findings and a bit of my work from today.
Here you can see secret fabrics, can´t tell more at the moment....
....and fabrics for another secret project.
These are mine, couldn´t resist....
This one persisted to follow me home and I said OK! Think we can have some fun together...
And I needed something to read, a copy of the only Swedish quilt magazine, Fat Quater.
Thank you Annika, nice to meet you!
Red fabrics, the same colour as some of the walls in my studio. I will cut out coffee cups from these and place them on this black & white quilt:

At last the last sneak peak of my bag swap bag. I finished it today, tomorrow it will leave Sweden for its trip to.......
Now I will do some stitching on the red-black-white secret project. I cut out pieces earlier today and altough it´s a little bit late I can´t resist... Just a couple of stitches, I promise.....
See you,
Helena

Where is my angel fabric? I forgot that picture....and the Japanese...where are they? Let me try again tomorrow, my memory is not the best :(

Finished!
My stitcery is finished :)
The thread I used is a mixed one with green, blue and turquoise colours in it.
It´s difficult to see that in the picture, but I think it came out very nice.
The next step is to find fabrics for the border in these colours.
I think it will become some kind of a wallhanging.
The triangels I made some days ago look like this nowadays:
After moving them around into different designs I decided that this was the best.
Tomorrow the rest of them will be sewed together and then I will look for border fabric.
Perhaps I will found my fabrics in "Quilt-köping", a quiltfair that I´m going to visit next Saturday. I don´t think I will come home with empty hands :)) An empty wallet maybe....
I´ve got a mail today telling me that my bagswap bag is on its way to me, how exiting!
I think I will finish mine tomorrow and send that parcel far away to.....guess who!
Some sneak peaks of that colourful thing!
Just now it´s raining, very much, very very much, like a shower, or worse....
Is it this they call autum? I think so...
Time for a little stitchery? Yes, it is....
Happy stitching,

Colours!
Yesterday I pieced my bag for the bag swap. Many bright colours together, makes me happy!
I have choosen the fabrics with inspiration from the Swedish summer flowers.

....and yes, I managed to put the blocks together with my own quilt-as-you-go method. But it needed a lot of hand stiching, which is okey with me.

I started to design a heart-block for the quilt too, a few more pieces will be added. But I´m satisfied with the quilted look of the heart, I sewed it in place through the batting.
Now I will go on working on my new blog design; new pictures, updated logo, links and much more. The new one will show up soon, together with other happenings, still secret. It´s time for an opening ceremoni at my new quilting studio, the new "Syverkstan". I just have a few things left to finish!
See you,
Helena
I have choosen the fabrics with inspiration from the Swedish summer flowers.
They are yellow, lilac, violet, pink, blue....and of course green.
The yellow round plots symbolises buttercups.
There´s some stichery on it too, fantasy flowers.
I also worked on my stichery quilt....
